Christmas in this European country is a bit unusual. In Hungary people refer to Santa Claus as Saint Nick. Also, they believe that he doesn’t come on Christmas Eve, but on December 6. On that date, children wake up and find sweets and presents not under a tree, but in their shoes. On the night of December 24, comes out a devilish creature named Krampus. According to the local tradition, he brings golden birches to all bad kids.
