The Great Wall of China covers 21,196 km and it is considered to be one of the seven wonders of the world. Very soon, this construction masterpiece will also make its way to Dubai. This seemly impossible feat will become reality thanks to a new project… and the fact that Dubai will actually construct a replica of The Great Wall of China.

Dubai is now revisiting plans for the development of Mini World Park. The unique project was first announced two years ago. However, its current status is “on hold.” Still, Dubai Municipality plans to commence work on the theme park as soon as a final location has been selected for it.

The ambitious theme park project was first announced back in 2013, along with snail-shaped maritime museum and a library that will resemble an open book and cover an area of 50,000 sq. m. Mini World Park will be a massive theme park facility that will feature replicas of famous natural monuments, buildings and landmarks. The Great Wall of China will be just one of them. Visitors will also get the opportunity to see smaller version of Egypt’s Pyramids, Mexico’s Aztec Temples, Athens’ The Acropolis, Jordan’s Petra, England’s Stonehenge, Rome’s Colosseum, Australia’ Ayers Rock (Uluru), Lebanon’s Raouche Rock, US’ Mount Rushmore and many others.

In addition to that, the project will also include two of Dubai’s famous landmarks. Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower, and Burj Al Arab, the most luxurious hotel ever built, will both be included in the Mini World Park. In that way, the park’s visitors will have the opportunity to see the replicas almost right next to originals and compare them.

How Many Theme Parks are Too Much

Mini World Park will be just one of the many theme park projects that have been announced during the past one year. As part of its World Expo 2020 preparations, Dubai is aiming to boost its tourism sector and turn into a global entertainment hub.

Just a few days ago, it was stated that Dubai will become the home of the world’s first Hunger Games theme park. The facility is set to feature 27 attractions and rides inspired by the hit movies and books. Also, it will be constructed over an area of 4 million square feet by 2016.

Along with the Hunger Games project, the emirate will also build the first Legoland in the Middle East, and the world’s only Bollywood-inspired theme park. Also, the city is working on Motiongate Dubai, which will include rides themed popular Hollywood characters.

The Pearl of Dubai is one of the more extravagant theme parks that are scheduled to be ready by 2020. It will function as an underwater theme park and it will be set in the water of The World Islands.

It seems that Dubai will soon be more than just a shopping heaven, regional trade hub and financial center . By 2020, the city will be transformed into a theme park capital. The question is how many theme parks are too much.
