Hunger Game Theme Park

Excited to see the final film of the “Hunger Games” franchise “Mockingjay – Part 2 this winter? If you are one of the millions of fans of Katniss Everdeen, then we have even better news for you! The story will now be recreated in a new theme park in Dubai, where visitors will enjoy “Hunger Games”-themed rides and a gift shop. Many parents were truly terrified some time ago when the first installment of the movie was released, but regardless you like it or not, its commercial success is addictive for some investors. A themed-merchandise retail is an additional profit opportunity.

On Tuesday Canadian-American entertainment company Lionsgate announced plans for opening attractions and a retail facility inspired by “The Hunger Games” franchise in the theme park Motiongate Dubai. Company CEO Jon Feltheimer said they are now partnering with Dubai Parks and Resorts to create a “thrilling total entertainment experience” in the desert emirate. Along with Katniss and company, the Lionsgate zone will feature a live stage show based on popular dance/romance films “Step Up: All In” and “Step Up” Revolution”.

This is exciting a promising opportunity for Dubai as the new attraction will appeal to young generations. The first three “Hunger Games” movies grossed over $2.3 billion at the worldwide box office, while the book series, which were the basis for the motion picture, are also best-selling around the world. And the fourth and final film “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – part 2” arrives on November 20, 2015.

The 4 million square feet Motiongate is expected to draw more than 3 million visitors a year with its total of 27 rides and attractions, inspired by modern movies. It will have a 730,000 sq. f. DreamWorks zone, and Universal, Marvel, and Paramount previously announced plans to join with themed attractions there, too. Motiongate Dubai will open in October 2016 and besides it, Dubai Parks and Resorts also builds a Legoland and a Bollywood-themed attraction. They will be all connected by the Riverland – an exciting retail, dining and entertainment walkway. Along with these, there will be Lapita, which is said to be a Polynesian-themed family-friendly resort.

It sounds pretty soon Dubai will be the ultimate movie entertainment destination!
