CORONAVIRUS IMPACT

J.K. Rowling published a surprise short story dedicated not to anyone else, but to Harry Potter himself. The story focuses on the adult lives of some of the main characters known from the popular series.

In her story, Rowling makes an interesting reference to one of the hottest events that takes place right now – the 2014 World Cup. She achieves that by setting the action at the Quidditch World Cup. Of course, all the best wizards are there, including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. However, there is one main difference – all of them are adults. Harry, for example, is 34 and he even has grey hair. Despite that, the wizard has not given up his trademark glasses.

The short story is like a family affair. Harry is attending the Quidditch tournament together with his wife and two kids. Hermione and Ron are still a couple and have also brought their two children at the event.

The new Harry Potter short story became a sensation not long after it was published online on Pottermore. So many fans were trying to access it that the website even crashed. But that is not surprising because the last book from the Harry Potter collection was released almost seven years ago and until now Rowling has never written about her popular characters as adults

The short story has revived fans’ hopes that the author may publish more adventures with the famous wizard. However, J.K. Rowling has not showed any intentions of writing another Harry Potter book. Even if she wanted to, she may not be able to find time for it in the near future. Over the last couple of years, the famous author published a few novels for adults, the last of which arrived in June. Currently, Rowling is working on the first part of the Harry Potter spinoff films. The movie is called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The short story is barely 1,500 words. However, J.K. Rowling announced that she will publish its second part on 11 July (Friday). In it, fans will be able to read about the Quidditch World Cup finals which will include the teams of Brazil and Bulgaria.
