The Burj Khalifa will light up with a spectacular fireworks display on Wednesday night if Dubai wins the right to host Expo 2020.
It is understood that a huge fireworks display and laser show has already been readied, in anticipation of the emirate winning the long awaited vote.
The bidding process for Expo 2020 will reach its conclusion in a few minutes from now in Paris, with the host city revealed around 8.30pm Dubai time.
Dubai is in competition with a city from Russia only.
Fireworks by Grucci, a world-renowned pyrotechnics company now in its 6th generation, is honored to have been selected along with Emaar Properties in the thrilling award announcement of Expo 2020.
“We are already in Dubai to prepare for the record-breaking fireworks extravaganza planned for New Year’s Eve, so we were able to quickly get into production mode for the Expo 2020 announcement tonight at Burj Khalifa and the World Islands. Fortunately, our advanced technological capabilities are able to match the vision and success of this great city.”
Should Dubai win, the fireworks display has been timed provisionally for around 10pm.
Elsewhere around the emirate, huge excitement continues to build with several “Expo 2020 parties” taking place.
