The 10th Middle East CEO of the Year Awards felicitated its proud winners in a high-profile ceremony on April 11, 2013 at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, UAE. Organized by the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute, these awards recognized some of the region’s most outstanding leaders of business and government organizations.
The awards ceremony and luncheon in honor of outstanding leaders from government and business organizations were graced by the presence of prominent figures from regional business and government organizations, the armed forces, as well as by several VIPs.
The ceremony began with the welcome message by Mr. Ali Al Kamali, Managing Director, Middle East Excellence Awards Institute. He said, “The Middle East CEO of the Year awards honors those leaders who have gone the extra mile in bringing in vitality to their organizations as well as to their unwavering dedication to achieve impressive growth and profit through innovative ways. The awards embark the importance of CEO’s in the present day scenario and lead individuals and organizations to make significant contributions as they continue to evolve.”
He added that the awards are catalyzed through distinctive judging procedure that takes into account the distinct role of leaders in developing the global competitiveness of the region and their significant part in encouraging and implementing localization objectives and benchmarks for the influx of nationals in the private sectors.
The winners of the 2013 10th Middle East CEO of the Year Awards are:
1) ICT and Knowledge Development CEO Excellence Award: H.E. Dr. Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi Chief Executive Officer Information Technology Authority (ITA), Oman.
2) ICT and Knowledge Development CEO Excellence Award: H.E. Engineer Ali S. Al Soma, Director General of the Saudi e-government program
3) Retail Industry CEO Excellence Award: H.E. Dr. Abdulraouf Mohammad A. Mannaa, Managing Director of Savola Group, Saudi Arabia
4) ICT Development and Solutions Provider CEO Excellence Award: H.E. Eng. Ahmed Bin Alawi Ghamri – Sejel Technology Company Ltd. – Jeddah – K.S.A
5) Government CEO Excellence Award: H.E. Major General Ahmed Naser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police
6) Trading Development CEO Excellence Award: H.E. Mr. Hussain Mohammed Al Mahmoudi, Director General, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry(SCCI)
