Only days before its long-anticipated gig in Dubai, one of the most successful bands today Thirty Seconds to Mars announced it has rescheduled the date for the concert. Although fans in the UAE are disappointed, at least their tickets will be valid for the new show, set for September 25.

Last week, it became clear that One Direction’s Zayn Malik has left the band and he won’t arrive in Dubai for their gig at The Sevens Stadium on April 4. These two concerts – One Direction’s and Thirty Seconds to Mars’, were the biggest music events of the year, with thousands of fans buying their tickets months in advance. Despite the disappointment, Dubai will still see the UK’s boy band without Malik. As for Jared Leto’s award-winning alternative rock band, they are still heading to Dubai, but in the fall. According to the official statement on their website, the show is rescheduled for Friday, September 25.

The band apologized for “any inconvenience” and pointed out that tickets will be valid for the new date. Organizers from Live Nation ensured fans they can get a full refund until April 10. They are also making up for the postponed concert, offering a lottery that will give winners the opportunity to upgrade their tickets, receive signed merchandise and even get a meet & greet with the band. So, it doesn’t sound so bad after all, does it?

So, how come Thirty Seconds to Mars decided to change the date for their Dubai gig? According to the statement, it was due to “unforeseen scheduling conflicts”. The concert was part of their “Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams” world tour, which started on June 5, 2013 in Warsaw, Poland. The show in Dubai should have followed the date in Minsk, Belarus (April 4). However, now the new schedule shows that on April 8, there will be a show in Gdansk/Sopot, Poland, where fans will also enjoy the ARTIFACT Screening with Jared Leto. The Poland gig was originally set for May 4. And the next concerts are in May.

This rescheduling has probably something to do with the fact that front man Jared Leto (who was originally an actor before starting the band and now a Hollywood star) is now filming “Suicide Squad”. The movie, releasing in August 2016, follows the story of the so-called suicide squad – a black ops team that includes imprisoned supervillans. Along with Jared Leto, who plays The Joker, we’ll see Will Smith as Deadshot, Cara Delevigne as the Enchantress, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and possibly Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
