“The Samsung Galaxy S III is a great phone, but should I wait for the iPhone 5 instead?”

Such question doesn’t make much sense. If you are in the category of the high-tech addicts, you should buy the latest device available on the market. While waiting for the next generation to prove it’s superiority, you will be able to keep on par with the latest technology developments. Always it is an easy option to gift your “old”, but already extremely advanced device to a friend. On a personal note, some may question themselves if they really need new smartphone every six months. Others could worry about spending soo much just to change a phone.

Whatever the case, billion-dollar companies should continue making profits to attracts investors. The strategy is simple! By inventing new stuff and upgrading older models, top brands generate super profits.

Given the breakneck pace of the smartphone world, there is always something good now, but something better around the corner. Your investment, either in Samsung Galaxy S III or in iPhone 5, most probably will last a limited amount of time. And if on a personal note this may not be very disturbing, on a larger scale, it may cause some a bankruptcy.

According to the latest leaks of the features of the upcoming iPhone 5, everything that plugs into the bottom of  the device will soon disappear of the market. This may include: charger, expensive dock, iTrip and more. Some manufacturers should either quickly re-position their strategies, or will soon be driven out of business.

It seems, Apple is working on a new 19-pin adapter for the iPhone 5, replacing the old 30 pin connector the company has used since the third generation iPod.

Apple is now concerned with space savings inside each device. The connectors offered structural stability when connecting to most accessories, especially with the introduction of the MagSafe 2 port. The company held on to it for as long as it did and that standard connector has remained consistent for generations of new gadgets. It has led to a proliferation of iPhone docks around the world. With the new iPhone 5, these docks will be on their way to obsolescence.

There will be a fleet of new new iPhone accessories available when the new smartphone comes out. Dedicated Apple fans who wait in line for every new iPhone launch will not waste time upgrading. The environment will be disturbed, but accessory manufacturers will adopt after an uncomfortable transition.

Definitely, there will be new opportunities. Some manufacturers will make a 19-30 pin adapter and the industry will move towards making everything for the new iPhones, providing upgrades for the rest of products.
