Emirati movie ‘Sea Shadow’ to world premiere at Abu Dhabi Film Festival

The first Emirati film from Image Nation Abu Dhabi is set to launch at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival on 19th October 2011. Developed and produced by Image Nation Abu Dhabi and directed by acclaimed Emirati film director Nawaf Al-Janahi, ‘Sea Shadow’ will go on general release in cinemas throughout Dubai and the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain from 17 November 2011.

Written by Mohammed Hassan Ahmed, ‘Sea Shadow’ follows teenagers Mansour and Kaltham as they struggle with tradition and convention in their journey towards adulthood. Bound by family and deeply-rooted values, the pair must find the courage to forge their own paths.

Abu Dhabi-based Al-Janahi has directed and produced several highly acclaimed films, including the short “Mirrors of Silence” and full-length feature, “The Circle”, which premiered at the Gulf Film Festival in 2009.

Al-Janahi comments: “To premiere ‘Sea Shadow’ at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival is enormously exciting for us. The support and backing from Image Nation Abu Dhabi has allowed local talent to excel both in front and behind the camera, which we believe will appeal to audiences of diverse backgrounds and cultures.”
