Amazon announced the launch of new services that would allow people to purchase, store and play their music and other digital content including movies on a range of digital devices, irrespective of their location.

Customers will automatically get five gigabytes of free space on a so-called cloud drive to store their music.

The available storage memory space will be upgraded to 20 GB on purchase of any MP3 album from Amazon.

Plans for additional storage will be charged, starting at $20 a year, the company said in a statement.
