Unique Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology, a key component in BenQ projectors

In Line with its theme of ‘Bringing  Enjoyment  and Quality  to Life’, BenQ, the world’s leading Digital Light Processing (DLP®) projector supplier has launched its latest range of short throw and high brightness projectors designed to seamlessly merge work and play.

Release of the latest BenQ projectors is aimed at enhancing its overall market presence & projector market share across the Middle East. BenQ is ranked No.1 in MEA in DLP Projector segment from 2004 to 2007. BenQ Projectors stands No.1 in KSA and the UAE with a market share of 45 per cent and 27 per cent respectively in DLP Segment.

“Our key to success has always been product innovation and technology that facilitates user convenience. The market is rapidly moving toward short throw & high-brightness projection and as always, BenQ will deliver the best featured models and support to help ProAV dealers fulfil the latest consumer needs,” said Manish Bakshi, General Manager, Middle East and Africa.

“We are certain that these new projectors will create a lot of buzz, especially since superior projection quality has gained increased importance in this part of the world.”

BenQ Short Throw projectors are loaded with the latest features that provide superior display performance & thoughtful features.  The all new BenQ MP512ST & MP522ST, MP771 projectors, which make up BenQ’s new short-throw projector series, delivers larger pictures at shorter distances. With its short-throw ratio lens precisely calculated and positioned, these projectors are able to deliver large-screen projection in tight spaces without jeopardizing picture quality.

The inbuilt short-throw ratio enables customers to run flawless sessions with no shadow interference. With other models in the market, instructors can unexpectedly be blinded by crossing into or glancing at a projector beam as they walk around the projection area – the BenQ MP projector series does not harm the presenter’s vision due to the projector’s unique close proximity to the screen. The BenQ MP771 is the first short throw model in the 3000 Lumens Segment in Middle East. Featuring a high 3,000 ANSI lumens brightness and high 2,000:1 contrast ratio, the BenQ MP771 delivers precise details even in dark scenes, while the Brilliant ColourTM technology brings a 50% increase in brightness of mid-tone colour, resulting in highly saturated images.

Further reinforcing the projector market are BenQ‘s extensive SP range of high brightness projectors that include the SP920, SP870, SP831 and the SP820.

The SP920 projector model uses cutting-edge brightness technology, sporting an ultra-high 6000 ANSI lumens of brightness and the latest picture enhancing technologies, including a Texas Instruments DLP chip and BrilliantColor™ Technology, OSRAM’s UNISHAPE™ lamp illumination technology and BenQ’s propriety 3D Colour Management system and unique dual-lamp design.

Most importantly, all BenQ projectors use the Texas Instruments (DLP) technology (a patented technology from Texas Instruments), which provides necessary motive power to make the pictures look sharper.  This industry recognised technology improves colour accuracy and enables better use of lamp spectrum to achieve brighter projection. Plus, all DLP projector components are completely sealed so that dust cannot affect the image.

“BenQ is one of the first DLP global manufacturing customers to release a product leveraging the DLP technology,” said John R. Reder, Business Development Manager (EMEA), Texas Instruments Ltd. “The BenQ TI synergy has worked wonders in the projector market since inception and currently BenQ Middle East is our top selling vendor in the region. We have worked closely for more than ten years now and we look forward to a continued association with the leading manufacturer of digital lifestyle products.”

All the newly announced Short Throw & High Brightness Projectors are expected to be available in Middle East by the end of August 08.
