Summer is not seen as the busiest shopping season of the year, but that does not mean that you will not be able to find generous discounts or amazing sales in July. However, it is also true that some products become surprisingly pricey. So, if you are planning to dedicate part of your summer holiday to shopping sprees and bargain hunting, make sure you do it wisely.

The beginning of July, however, is an exception. This year, many of the most popular online retailers and brands, including Amazon, Bloomingdales.com and 6pm.com, will organize special 4th of July sales. Apart from U.S. flags and patriotic consumes, these promotions will also focus on summer items. What you can expect are discounts of up 75%.

This offer will be available for a limited period of time and it is better to grab it now by pre-ordering the device, but not to wait until its official release on 25 July or a future discount.

Gym membership – Gyms and fitness facilities are not very busy during the summer. Quite the opposite – some are even forced to temporary close during the season. People are either relaxing on a holiday or looking for a way to escape the heat, which typically involves less activity. Getting a gym membership in July is a true bargain.

Plane tickets – Travel packages in July are more expensive than they were in May and June, there is no doubt about it. Home appliances – Leave the shopping for home appliances for the fall or even better – for the winter. Prices of air-conditioners, in particular, traditionally climb during the hottest months of the year. In fact, it will be better if you leave on a vacation. In that way you will neither need to struggle with the heat nor to attempt to reduce your energy bills.

TVs – Summer is usually the worst season to purchase a new TV. With the World Cup, this rule counts even more. All the best deals on big-screen TVs were on before the start of the tournament. Now, retailers are either out of stock (when it comes to the good models at least) or are simply less generous.

Summer clothing – Unless it is part of a 4th of July sale, buying summer clothes in July can cost you are prepared to give. But retailers, like 6mp and Amazon, tend to organize sales with discount of up to 75% on sneakers, jackets and long-sleeved shirts. So, if you are in mood for some clothing shopping, focus on off-season products.

Back-to-school items – Do not interrupt your summer holiday with back-to-school shopping. There is little point in that since most promos on school and office products and appliances will arrive in August and September.
