In line with its efforts to participate in initiatives related to preserving the UAE environment and natural wealth and projects pertaining to the confrontation of various global climate risks, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) launched a campaign at its office in Dubai in partnership with the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA). The campaign aims at promoting awareness among MoF employees regarding the importance of energy and water consumption.

Through implementing this campaign, MOF seeks to inform its employees of the vision and mission of DEWA, in addition to enhancing their knowledge on methods of rationalizing energy and water usage, and encouraging them to apply best practices to conserve the UAE’s natural resources.

Stressing the importance of leveraging natural resources responsibly, H.E. Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of MoF, said: “The campaign launched by MoF to promote energy and water consumption falls in line with our efforts to enhance environmental knowledge and awareness, and reinforce values of protecting the UAE’s natural resources. Furthermore, the campaign aims at improving environmental practices among members of the community and at addressing the different threats facing the planet.”

The campaign received significant support from DEWA, where the authority provided MoF with related booklets and publications, motivational prizes and CDs containing articles and materials that promote the conservation of natural resources and aim at establishing environmental best practices as a permanent behavioral pattern among the UAE community.
