The National Geographic Al Arabiya UAE Universities & Higher Colleges of Technology Tour has been traveling across the country since March this year, and has visited 13 different universities and institutes around the Emirates in its first installment. The tour will now conclude following its visit to Khalifa University this week, where it will break for summer before resuming visits to the remaining universities of the Northern Emirates in the next academic semester.

At each stop on the tour National Geographic Al Arabiya displays its unique photo exhibition of award winning photography, as well as presenting a series of educational lectures for students and faculty members.

The tour so far has been an outstanding success, with hundreds of students, teachers and members of the public enjoying the amazing display of photos and educational lectures on offer.

“Our aim for National Geographic Al Arabiya has always been to educate the UAE and the wider region on the importance of environmental awareness, and I believe the tour has succeeded in encouraging students to think differently about the world around them and to take a greater interest in preserving our national environment and the wonders that come with it. We look forward to visiting more universities after our summer break, to continue to spread our environmental message.”

Commenting on the recent exhibition, Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Executive Vice President of Khalifa University, stated: “Khalifa University cultivates creativity and innovation through its blended multidisciplinary approach and this exhibition and the associated lectures have proved to be highly informative, educational and thought provoking. Over the course of the week, our students, faculty and visitors to our campus attended the exhibition, and it has been an absolute pleasure to have been able to host the National Geographic Al Arabiya UAE University & Higher Colleges of Technology Tour. I would like to commend National Geographic Al Arabiya for playing such an important role in driving awareness about our planet and for being a constant source of inspiration to young people.”
