The next generation iPhone would be revealed just in a month from now, and that is for sure. However, it has not been officially announces the gadget will be introduced on 9 September. Although the information did not come from Apple itself, it was shared by Re/code which is considered to be one of the most reliable technology news blogs and has a long list of correct predictions.

According to the cited sources, Apple will host a media event on 9 September. It is said that the new iPhone will be in the focus, along a few more products.

Apple insiders have reportedly declined to offer comments on the news. However, that does not mean that this is just another rumour. The U.S. giant does not have the habit to tip off the media so early. Instead, it send its event announcements one or two weeks prior the date in question. Therefore, it is expected invites to be sent during the last week of August or the first week of September.

The expectations surrounding the new iPhone launch date were so many that they are even hard to summarize. Still, the majority of technology experts were confident that Apple would not introduce its newest flagship product during the first half of September.

September 9 does sound too early… or maybe not. In the past, Apple has shown a liking for this date. Back in 2008, for example, it picked the 9th day of September to unveil its new iPods. A year later, again on the same date, the company showed off another lineup of iPods and introduced iTunes. Back then, iPods were Apple’s flagship product, but today it is the iPhone. So, September 9 it is!

In addition, this early introduction date could suggest that Apple may unveil its two new iPhones on separate dates. Similar to 2013, the giant is said to be working on two smartphones – an iPhone with a 4.7” screen and another one with a display measuring 5.5”.

Another factor for earlier than expected launch might be the upcoming most active shopping season and the nearing of Black Friday and Cyber Monday events. The earlier a product is released, the more time a company has to promote it. Moreover, the prices of the previous-generation iPhones 5S and 5C will become more attractive to consumers.

The new iPhone or iPhones are expected to have sapphire screens and possibly metal chassis. They are also likely to run on a faster A8 processor and iOS 8 mobile operating system. In addition, they may have a longer battery life and 13MP cameras.
