The Community Development Authority (CDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates NBD to strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of volunteer work, and exchange experience in operation management, service development, customer relations and financial consultancy.

His Excellency Mr Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of CDA and Mr. Sulaiman Al-Mazroui, General Manager, Group Corporate Communications, Emirates NBD, signed the MoU recently at CDA’s premises.

As per the MoU, CDA and Emirates NBD will provide a joint programme on finance management for the people in Hatta. The bank’s experts will organize workshops on various topics including how to manage debt, responsible lending, and responsible spending. The volunteers will focus on activities that target all segments of the community, especially the elderly.

CDA will organize a practical volunteer programme for volunteers from the Emirates Bank Group to participate in social, heritage and health programmes for the elderly such as reading the Holy Quran, joining them in field trips, and taking part in sports events.

“Volunteering is a priority for CDA and we seek to promote it in co-operation with our strategic partners from the government and the private sector. What distinguishes this cooperation is the focus for the first time, through our partnership with Emirates NBD, on launching a programme about finance management to enhance awareness on financial skills,” said Mr Al Kamda.

“The bank’s volunteers will provide advice and guidance on how to manage financial matters, which will be of valuable assistance to a large segment of individuals, and thus improve their financial management skills,” he added.

Mr. Sulaiman said: “We are pleased to sign this Memorandum of Understanding with the Community Development Authority which aims at re-enforcing Emirates NBD’s position, not only as an institution which plays an important role in economic growth and financial development, but also as a strong supporter of various community initiatives. The bank also plays a significant role in encouraging small National entrepreneurs in the UAE through “Al Tomooh” program”.
