The Emirates Foundation today launched a AED2.5 million grant programme in support of non-governmental organisations operating in the areas of education and social care in the UAE.
The programme aims at boosting the work of non-governmental organisations in the UAE to enable them improve their services and expand in their operations in the areas of education and social care.
A press release issued today by the foundation said the grant may be used for the purposes of training, expansion of existing programmes and improving services, as well as in the areas of institutional support, financing of studies and scientific research.
The press release further explained that institutions interested in benefiting from the grant must obtain a license from the concerned government bodies and must be operating in the areas of education and social care in the country.
The maximum grant for a beneficiary non-governmental organisation shall not exceed AED 500,000 for two years.
The deadline for submission of applications by any qualified non-governmental organisation is December 15, 2000.
