Bride Show Abu Dhabi starts February 8th

The Bride Show, the wedding event in the Middle East, confirms its exciting schedule for the 11th exhibition in Abu Dhabi. Taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre 8 – 11 February 2012, the bride dedicated event will be marked by a high-octane fashion schedule from some of the world’s best known couture and bridal design houses in addition to a number of new show features.

It is hoped that the 2012 events will attract a record number of visitors from the UAE, even more so than last years show. Read more

Marc Jacobs’s inspiration fills Dubai Louis Vuitton stores

Marc Jacobs thought about “pale girls who don’t see the sun” when creating the latest Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 12 line. Does he mean the Dubai girls who prefer to stroll the shopping malls then the parks or the beach?

The creative director of the Louis Vuitton brand delighted fashion professionals by staging a catwalk show amid a giant carousel during Paris Fashion Week late last year. The clothes also dazzled, with the laser-cut motifs present in many of the pieces expected to be one of the key trends for the upcoming season.

Marc has discussed how he came up with the new Louis Vuitton look.

“We wanted to create a feeling and emotion, so Catherine Deneuve in La sirène du Mississipi, as well as Rosemary’s Baby and Mulholland Drive,” he explained. Read more

Advice for models: Run as fast as you can!

Helena Christensen has joked she’d advise wannabe models to “run as fast as you can”.

The Danish supermodel has been involved with the Crystallized Swarovski Unsigned Models Search, which aimed to find two new faces to model Swarovski Crystallized’s Spring/Summer 12 collection.

The models Reece Sanders and Freya McHugh were eventually chosen and Helena has described what it was like to work with them.

“I want to say, ‘Run as fast as you can!’” she laughed, when asked what tips she’d given the pair. “Not really, but I’d say if you do it, you’ll have an incredible time. I definitely feel protective of them. Read more
