After two years of careful planning and execution, the Entertainer App was launched in 2014 with phenomenal results. For the first time, customers were given the choice of purchasing a book or app, with 13% converting to digital in the inaugural year. In 2015, conversion grew to 45% and in 2016 more than 85% of customers chose the App. Since launching their 2017 products on 26th October, 99.4% of Entertainer purchases have been digital. Today, nine markets are now app-only, with only two books available in the UAE in 2017. In November 2015, the UAE celebrated 1 million mobile redemption since the App’s launch; this year alone, Entertainer customers have redeemed over 4 million mobile offers and saved more than AED 500 million.
The Entertainer’s digital transformation has rapidly expanded the company’s capabilities, which are based on driving relevance and context. Invaluable data helps shape and grow the products to better suit consumers’ tastes. Customers can be served offers based on past choices and preferences. New merchants can be added any time throughout the year, and full products can be launched in just a few months. The brand’s decision to go digital has opened up tremendous opportunities for growth in the digital marketplace.

Browse for outlets by name, keyword, location and even filter by attributes such as smoking preference, Halal offerings, child-friendly outlets, valet parking and WiFi accessibility. This year, the Entertainer partnered with Careem, the region’s premier chauffeur taxi booking service, to offer Entertainer users the option of booking a ride directly through the App. In September 2016, the Entertainer introduced an updated user-interface and ‘Smiles’, the brand’s own virtual currency system which allows users to earn and spend rewards each time they use the App.
