Dubai SME, the agency of the Department of Economic Development (DED) mandated to develop the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, has announced that registration is open for the third batch of its Entrepreneurship Diploma. The third batch will commence from 26 August to September 2013 and 25 seats are available for applicants.
Designed to equip entrepreneurs looking to expand their projects with the necessary knowledge and strategies, the diploma programme guides participants through the fundamental principles of business success and leadership. The first two batched have already produced 65 graduates, out of which 10 have already launched own businesses.
Following the success of the first two batches Dubai SME has increased the number of training sessions in the programme to 29. Entrepreneurs enrolled in the practice-oriented programme learn how to translate their ideas into concrete action plans and involve in all aspects of business development thereby broadening their skills and insights.
Abdul Baset Al Janahi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai SME said: “The Entrepreneurship Diploma has succeeded in providing a knowledge platform and launch pad for our young entrepreneurs as evident from first two batches. The programme is designed to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs and equip them with all the skills needed to become successful professionals and business leaders.”
The diploma comprises lecture sessions and workshops in which active participation is compulsory. Successful entrepreneurs are invited to share their experiences and candidates receive expert assistance in conceptualising, implementing and marketing their business ideas. Nearly 70 per cent of the graduates from the first two batches have gone on to conduct case studies as a continuation of the lessons they learned from the programme.
Candidates to the third batch can complete their registration by contacting Dubai SME on firstname.lastname@example.org or on the phone numbers 04 361 3027/04 361 3055.
The Diploma enables participants to network with leading industry practitioners and entrepreneurs as well as to learn, interact and share knowledge in an actual work environment. Participants get exposed to the various components of a well-defined business plan including strategic management, marketing, accounting, and finance and also have to develop their own business plan towards the end of the programme.
