We all love air-conditioners during the summer, but unfortunately we can’t always stay indoors, so everyone is looking for a way to stay cool under the killer sun. Cold drinks and ice-cream are the classics, along strolls in Dubai’s large and modern shopping malls, but this year, technology is the hit. We have found several mobile apps which are very useful in the middle of a scorching heat wave. Regardless of your mobile device, they will help you plan your coolest day and beat the heat.

In the end, it compares all the data with information from the World Health Organization and tells you how long you can stay under the sun without experiencing any damage.

It is optimized for iPhone 5 and requires iOS 5.0 or later, but it can be also found for Android.

Poncho – Available on all phones and email; Free

Poncho is not an app, but a notification service and it is very convenient and sweet. It sends you customized texts or emails alerting you about the weather forecasts and some additional info. The texts are funny written and cute, but unfortunately, the app is still limited to the New York area only.

Army Survival Guide – Available on iPhone, Android; Different Prices

There are lots of versions of Army Survival Guide available on different operating systems and at different prices. You can also find it for free, but you won’t have some of the options.
