Dubai SME partners Big Idea Start-up Challenge 2012

Dubai SME, formerly known as Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development, will be partnering Big Idea Start-up Challenge 2012. The event is scheduled on 16th February 2012 at the Dubai Knowledge Village Auditorium & hosted by Carole Spiers –BBC Guest Broadcaster & CEO Carole Spiers Group UK.

The highlight of the event will be :

  • Big Idea Global Entrepreneur Icon Award 2012
  • Big Idea Entrepreneur Icon Award 2012
  • Big Idea Young Entrepreneur Award 2012
  • Big Idea Mentor Institute Awards 2012

These Awards are a tribute for Inspiring entrepreneurship dreams in millions of aspiring entrepreneurs and instilling the ‘dream it dare it do it’ attitude in them,. We are delighted that this year Dubai SME is partnering this initiative , said Reena Banerjee – Founder & Idea Director at Big Idea.

Market your small business-Express Email Marketing Big Idea Start-up Challenge 2012 is a business plan competition open to Institute students and young adults in UAE. As part of this initiative to nurture young talent, Big Idea will be inviting aspiring entrepreneurs and Mentor Institutes to be part of the Big Idea Start-up Challenge 2012.

The winners of the Big Idea Start-up Challenge 2012 will have their ideas go through simulation at the Idea Lab at MBRE who will then be guiding them in setting up a lean organisation .

The Ideas submitted will be judged by an Entrepreneurship Advisory Board (EAB) consisting of :

Carole Spiers – CEO Carole Spiers Group UK ; Herman Lewis – CEO Radio Spice; Khalid Al Jowder – Chairman Al Jowder Group & Winner of Young Entrepreneur Award from Mohammad Bin Rashid Establishment (MBRE); Satyajeet Roy- Head of Commercial Banking, Citibank N.A, Mukund Cairae – CEO of Zee Network, Middle East, Sumantra Dutta – Country Head of Star Middle East & Ayub Ahmed – CEO of Capital International Group.

While the aspiring entrepreneurs will present Business Start-up Plan, Institutes will highlight the Innovative practices and methodologies implemented in nurturing entrepreneurship skills in students and compete for the ‘Big Idea Mentor Challenge 2012’

The Big Idea Start-up Challenge 2010 witnessed over 100 students from 15 top institutes across UAE (University of Wollongong Dubai, HULT International Business School, BITS Pilani, Heriot-Watt University, Murdoch University, University of Waterloo, Skyline University, Institute of Management Technology, SP Jain Centre of Management, Manipal University Dubai etc) used this innovative platform and compete for the top honours in 2010.

‘The next Big Entrepreneur could be you’, as per Reena Banerjee. All you need to do is to bring out your entrepreneurship skills and have a ‘dream it dare it do it’ attitude.
