First Samsung Medical Center Outside Korea in Dubai

Under the Patronage and Presence of H.H Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Deputy Ruler of Dubai Vice Chairman of Executive Council Samsung Medical Center in Collaboration with INDEX Holding has been inaugurated today in Dubai Healthcare City.

Inauguration ceremony has been attended by His Excellency Qahdi Saeed Al Murooshid, General Director, Dubai Health Authority, Abdul Salam Al Madani, President, INDEX Holding, Dr. Amina Al Rustamani, CEO – TECOM Business Park, Dr. Ayesha Abdulla, Managing Director, Dubai Healthcare City, Dr. Abdul Kareem Al Olama, Vice President – Centre for Healthcare Planning and Quality, Dubai Healthcare City, Dr. Jong Chul Rhee, President & CEO of Samsung Medical Center, Dr. Han Yong Choi, President of Samsung Seoul Hospital, and a number of hospitals directors and officials from the medical sector and dignitaries.

The centre is the first of its kind for Samsung Medical Center outside Korea and the decision was made based on the agreement signed last October between INDEX Holding and Samsung Medical Center. The two parties are confident that Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is the ideal venue to host such an international medical center. Samsung Medical Center in Collaboration with INDEX Holding will provide advanced medical services for Emaratis and residents in Dubai, UAE, GGC countries, Middle East and North Africa region. The center occupies an area of more than 10.000 square feet in Dubai Health Care City

Samsung Medical Center in Collaboration with INDEX Holding comprises of a team of Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Professionals in addition to the medical visits by specialists from Samsung Medical Centers and hospitals in Korea. Samsung Medical Center in Collaboration with INDEX Holding provides specialized medical services in Cancer, Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Women Health and Family Medicine.

This project that was initiated by INDEX Holding under the patronage of Dubai Health Authority is a new achievement added to the ongoing success in the medical sector in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates” said His Excellency Qahdi Al Mroushid, Director General, Dubai Health Authority.

Samsung Medical Center in Collaboration with INDEX Holding aims to attract medical tourism to the region and to exchange knowledge and experiences.

We will continue working in collaboration with Samsung Medical Center to enhance the health of Emarati and non Emarati residents in UAE. We would like to thank Dubai Government and all its institutions for their unremitting support to the medical and private sectors which we consider as major incentives that attract international leading institutions to Dubai and encourage us to achieve the best” said Abdul Salam Al Madani, President of INDEX Holding.

Samsung Medical Center was established in Korea in 1995 and currently includes 3 specialized hospitals in Seoul and other provinces. The hospital ranks the first for eight years successively and is known to be the best specialized hospital in Korea. Samsung Medical Center hosts more than 40 centers and specialized units in all medical specialties and employs more than 10.000 employees including 5.000 specialized medical staff and is considered as one of the largest advanced medical complexes in Korea. Also as a designated teaching hospital for Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine, Samsung Medical Center produces outstanding future leaders in healthcare.
