Giordano walks to promote good health and wellbeing

International brand sponsors 3rd edition of “Walk for your Health”

partcipants-have-their-bp-checkedYesterday, more than 500 Filipinos gathered at Safa Park to join the Walk for Your Health, sponsored by Giordano and organized by Filipino community organizations, Gawad Kalinga (To Give Care) and Filipino Healthcare Providers to raise awareness on the importance of exercise and a healthy lifestyle.

Walking  3.4kms around the jogging track, participants included serious runners and paced walkers. At the end of the walk, entrants congregated at the amphitheatre inside the park to take part in a “dance exercise” conducted by the Filipino Dance Sports and Social Club.

Medical professionals also attended and demonstrated basic First Aid procedures and conducted free blood pressure checks.

Commenting on the event, Ishwar Chugani, Executive Director Giordano Fashions L.L.C, said, “It is always encouraging to see so many people enthusiastic and proactive about improving their health and wellbeing. Giordano has always been a keen supporter for the community and welcomes the opportunity to lend a helping hand, especially when it comes to promoting healthy living and exercise.”

It has become an annual large scale gathering, where Filcom leaders, group members, friends and acquaintances get a chance to walk and exercise together. It is a fun and exciting fellowship activity that promotes better health.”

The event was also supported by several Filipino Community (Filcom) groups as partner organizations led by Pinoy Expats Auto Club in Emirates (PEACE) and Scout Royale Brotherhood (SRB).
