The Zakat fund received Tuesday an amount of AED1.5 million paid by UAE philanthropist and businessman, Obaid Al-Jaber and his family.
The kind gesture was in support of the Fund’s programme and in line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for the implementation of the Federal Government Strategy which calls for support of the Zakat Fund by businessmen and institutions.
In his letter to the Zakat Fund Secretary General, Abdullah bin Aqeeda Al-Muhairy, Al-Jaber said he is used to making this payment to the Zakat Fund every year based on his deep belief in the Fund’s humanitarian role in support of poor and deprived families in the UAE society.
He urged all businessmen, corporate bodies and individuals to live up to their religious obligations by paying their Zakat to the Zakat Fund.
