Tunisian President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali has issued an order exempting UAE citizens from holding pre-obtained visa for entering Tunisia.

This was stated in a letter from Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdul Wahab Abdullah to UAE foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The letter was delivered by Tunisian ambassador to UAE Mohammed Al-Sedeeri to Assistant Undersecretary for Political Affairs Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al Haidan during a meeting at the ministry headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Al Haidan said that the decision comes within the framework of the distinctive bilateral relations between UAE and Tunisia under the prudent guidance of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Tunisian President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali. The decision will strengthen the bridge of relations between the two countries, he added.

The Presidential order is the crowning of the efforts spent by UAE Foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah and his Tunisian counterpart through consultations and continued coordination between them, Al Haidan noted.
