ExxonMobil Foundation donates to Pakistan Flood Relief

ExxonMobil Foundation has donated $100,000 to the Red Crescent for flood relief and recovery efforts in Pakistan, where the United Nations reports monsoon flooding has killed up to 1,600 people and left two million homeless.

“Our sincere thoughts are with the people of Pakistan where thousands have lost their lives and millions more have been impacted by this disaster,” said ExxonMobil Foundation President Suzanne McCarron. “It’s our hope that our support for Red Crescent’s efforts will help to address the needs of those affected by this tragedy.”

The donation will be distributed to the Red Crescent through the American Red Cross. ExxonMobil does not operate in Pakistan.

Aramex launches “Support Pakistan” Disaster Relief Campaign

Aramex, the global logistics and transportation solutions provider, today announced the launch of “Support Pakistan”, a disaster relief campaign in the UAE. In partnership with Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), its subsidiary Emirates Petroleum Products Company (EPPCO) and Volunteers in Dubai (V.I.D), Aramex will collect donations and extend logistics support to deliver aid to areas of Pakistan affected by the country’s devastating floods, described by the United Nations as the “greatest humanitarian crisis in recent history.” Read more

In response to the international appeal for donations to help victims of the unprecedented floods in Pakistan, the Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha has launched a scheme to collect and arrange distribution of necessary food, medicines, clothing and blankets to those left with nothing after fleeing their homes and livelihoods.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Charity Foundation to help 44, 900 families during Ramadan

The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation will start over the next week the implementation of project “Ramadan Supplies for 2010″, which will benefit more than 44, 900 families in the UAE in cooperation with the Ministry of Social affairs.

The supplies will reach houses of deserved families on the expense of the foundation.

The project will be completed before advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan. The distribution of food items to beneficiaries will be in accordance with the Ministry of Social Affairs’ lists.
