Emirates is approaching a near-full return to operations, with 96% of its global network now restored following a period of disruption that affected international aviation across several regions.
Over recent weeks, the Dubai-based carrier has progressively resumed flights across the Americas, Europe, Africa, West Asia, the Middle East and GCC, the Far East, and Australasia, reinforcing Dubai’s role as one of the world’s leading international transit hubs.
Today, Emirates operates to 137 destinations across 72 countries, with more than 1,300 weekly frequencies. The airline says this represents around 75% of its pre-disruption capacity, with additional flights and seat availability being introduced steadily as demand continues to recover.
Despite operating on a reduced schedule during the disruption period, Emirates carried 4.7 million passengers, highlighting continued demand for international travel and the airline’s ability to maintain connectivity across key global routes.
The recovery also reflects broader momentum in Dubai’s aviation and tourism sectors, both of which remain closely tied to the emirate’s position as a global business and leisure destination.
Focus on Passenger Experience
Emirates continues to position its onboard experience as a central part of its long-haul offering. Passengers across the airline’s network are offered regionally inspired multi-course menus, premium beverage selections, and access to the carrier’s inflight entertainment platform, ice, which features more than 6,500 channels of content in nearly 40 languages.
The entertainment system includes films, television programmes, music, podcasts, audiobooks, games, and live content designed for international travellers across different markets.
Connectivity also remains a major focus for the airline. Emirates confirmed that Starlink-powered internet services are now available on 28 aircraft, providing high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity onboard as the airline expands digital services for passengers seeking uninterrupted communication while travelling.
Flexible Travel Options Expanded
Alongside the operational recovery, Emirates has introduced several measures aimed at improving booking flexibility and strengthening customer loyalty incentives.
Customers booking from 2 April onward are eligible for one complimentary date change across all cabin classes. Emirates also continues offering a 24-hour fare hold option, allowing travellers to secure ticket prices before confirming payment.
The airline is also promoting its Dubai Connect programme, which transforms long transit times into short stopover experiences in Dubai. Passengers with qualifying layovers between six and 26 hours can receive complimentary hotel accommodation in four- or five-star properties, airport transfers, meals, and UAE entry visas where required.
Dubai Connect is available across all cabin classes and can be arranged through the airline’s booking management platform up to 12 hours before departure, subject to eligibility requirements.
Skywards Incentives Through Summer 2026
Emirates Skywards members will also receive enhanced loyalty programme benefits between 1 May and 31 August 2026. The airline announced reduced tier qualification requirements alongside Bonus Tier Miles on Emirates and flydubai services during the promotional period.
The incentives come as airlines across the region compete aggressively for premium travellers and transit traffic amid a broader rebound in international aviation.
For Dubai, the continued restoration of Emirates’ network remains strategically important. Aviation, tourism, hospitality, retail, and business travel all depend heavily on the emirate’s ability to maintain seamless global connectivity. The expansion of flight frequencies and route availability is therefore expected to support wider economic activity as international travel conditions continue stabilising.
