New service-related projects approved in Dubai today

His Highness Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the UAE Minster of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality has approved to execute three development projects in the emirate of Dubai that worth around Dhs145m.

Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah said that being a service oriented organization the civic body is extremely keen to fulfill the entire requirements of the community in sync with the vision and strategy of Dubai Government as well as to implement these projects in accordance with the highest and best specifications in this field.

“The first and most prominent project is the main sewage line in Sama Al Jadaf area, the execution of which has been awarded for Dhs30m. The project is located in Shaikh Rashid road and Al Khail road in addition to the south of Al Khail road in an area of total 554 hectors where about 52,000 people live,” Lootah said.

After the approval the civic body will supervise on the implementation of regulations, long term plans and annual projects to develop sewage services, expansion of irrigation, external and rain water network in the emirate.

The Dhs45m second project is pumping stations and main lines of expulsion in Dubailand Residential area where currently 62,000 people reside and expected to be 203,000 by 2030. The project will be connecting the existing sewer networks with DM network in Al Aweer treatment station and will expand the capacity of pumping station 5.

The Dhs72.2m project to construct a market in Al Aweer for used trucks and spare parts in 42 hectors of land is the third one.

The project includes 88 showrooms for trucks and spare parts with all advanced facilities. It is aimed at unifying the trade of heavy equipments and trucks and its parts scattered in different parts of Dubai saving time, efforts and money in addition to the conservation of cleanliness and aesthetic view of the city.
