Palm Jumeirah Mall Summer Activities: Where to Go This Weekend

Dubai just found a new way to beat the heat, and it starts at Palm Jumeirah Mall this weekend.

Palm Jumeirah Mall launched a summer activities program this week, giving residents an indoor way to stay active while the temperature outside climbs past 40 degrees. The lineup includes indoor runs, yoga, Pilates, and Zumba, all under one roof. Super Sports is running the races, and Lululemon and Fitness First are leading the wellness sessions. The program runs through July and August, so you have weeks to work it into your routine.

There’s more good news if you love eating out. Summer Restaurant Week returns Monday, July 13, and runs through August 2. More than 50 restaurants across Dubai are joining in with set menus at a fraction of their usual prices. A two-course lunch runs 80 dirhams, a three-course dinner comes in at 120. Everything books through Careem DineOut, and the best tables tend to disappear fast once the deals go live.

Here’s what I’d do with the next few days.

Start Saturday morning at Palm Jumeirah Mall with the Yoga with Lululemon session. It’s free, fully indoors, and starts early enough that you’re home before the day gets properly hot. I’ve sat in on this class before, and what stands out is how little fuss surrounds it. No packed room, no rushed pace, just an open floor and an instructor who lets you move at your own speed. If you’re not chasing a race time, skip Sunday’s indoor run at the mall. That one pulls a louder, bigger crowd, and Saturday’s session is the calmer choice if what you want is a clear head rather than a finish line.

After class, stay a while and walk the mall before it fills up. It’s not a shopping trip. It’s more like forty quiet minutes to yourself before the rest of your weekend takes over.

Then start planning for Monday. Once Summer Restaurant Week opens, the smaller spots and harder to book tables go quickly. If a restaurant has been on your list for a while, this is the week to lock it in. Aim for July 13 or 14 if you can, since waiting even a few days could mean settling for a table you didn’t actually want.

One last thing before you head out. Activewear has stopped being just for the gym this year. The better pieces now move easily between a workout and the rest of your day, fabric that holds up through a yoga class and still looks sharp if you walk into a meeting right after. Rue Royale’s summer collection follows that same idea, built for days that don’t leave time for outfit changes between one thing and the next. Worth having a piece or two like that in rotation this month, wherever your weekend plans take you.

That’s the plan. A quiet Saturday morning at Palm Jumeirah Mall, a full mind reset, and a Monday reservation worth looking forward to.
