GoPro is the leader of the action camera space, and they’ve put together a holiday bundle at a very competitive price.
The GoPro HERO Session Holiday Bundle includes a camera (the GoPro HERO), a 16GB memory card, and a floating hand grip. It doesn’t include a multi-tool, which GoPro calls ‘The Tool” that can be used to tighten the HERO Session more tightly than you could by hand. It’s not essential, but something to keep in mind.
The camera itself has impressive specs for the price. You can record 720p or 1080p at 60fps (frames per second), or ratchet up the quality to better-than-HD 1440p at 30fps. For most people, the 1080p 60fps should work best. Since this is an action camera it’s also waterproof up to 33 feet without needing to be put in a case.
That makes it perfect for snorkeling, water skiing, or capturing sick moves off the diving board. If you’re into sports or other extreme activities, you’ve probably realized they’re hard to capture with a smartphone or digital camera.
If you want to turn things up a notch, you could invest in a head mount for the GoPro, which opens up what you can use it for quite a bit. Mount it to your helmet during snowboard runs, dirt bike runs, or to add a first person perspective to any activity.
For the active person, this bundle will allow them to share what they love to do with the people around them in a new way. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who would be disappointed with this being their big present this year, especially if they have a vacation coming up.
