With a large number of UAE residents expected to travel this Eid Al Fitr, Emirates is reminding its customers of key time checks for on-time departures at Emirates Terminal 3, Dubai International airport.

Check in with Emirates

Emirates check-in counters open three hours before flight departure. Customers are encouraged to be at the airport as early as possible, and plan for extra time to account for the heavy passenger traffic during these Eid holidays.

“In keeping with the airline’s commitment to greater efficiency and an enhanced as well as more comfortable travel experience, especially during the Eid holidays – Emirates reminds its customers to be aware of key time checks to ensure that their flights depart as scheduled,” said Mohammed H. Mattar – Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Airport Services.

Key time checks to remember are:

  • Check-in no later than 90 minutes prior to departure
  • Go through security checks no later than 60 minutes prior to departure
  • Boarding begins 45 minutes prior to departure
  • Gates close 20 minutes prior to departure

“We advise our customers come to the airport as early as possible to complete their pre-departure requirements – not only during this peak travel season – but every time they have a flight, whether for leisure or business. They should also plan for extra time if they wish to enjoy the excellent facilities at the airport, such as the duty free, and the lounges for our premium passengers, to avoid delays or missing their flights,” concluded Mr Mattar..

All customers, regardless of class of travel, are requested to report to the check-in counters no later than 90 minutes prior to departure and ensure that they have confirmed their booking terms and conditions, as well as their visa requirements.

Customers who check-in with less than 60 minutes to their scheduled flight will not be accepted. They are also reminded to go through security clearance no later than 60 minutes before departure.

Customers are also encouraged to check-in online, use the Self Service Kiosks or baggage drop facilities to avoid delays. Those checking in online are required to check in their luggage no later than 90 minutes prior to departure. Customers holding an e-boarding pass and travelling with carry-on bags only, can proceed directly for security clearance. Premium customers should proceed to the First or Business Class lounge nearest their gate of departure or take advantage of direct boarding facilities at Concourse A where they are available.

All customers are requested to be at the boarding gate no later than 45 minutes before departure. Boarding gates will close 20 minutes before departure time. This ensures that those who have already checked-in and boarded the flight will not be inconvenienced by delays and missed connections.

Transit passengers from flights arriving late into Dubai will be escorted by Emirates’ airport staff through formalities to ensure they make their onward connections.
