This is the time of the year when most people start thinking about Christmas. Some are looking for Christmas decorations, while other for gifts for family and friends. Here is what you need to know about the latest Christmas trends when choosing interesting colors or materials for this year’s festive season.

Some holiday styles suggest that we should stick to traditional decorations like the fresh green wreaths and glittering golden looks. This is what many consumers still prefer – the sparkling, shining, the red and the gold.

However, if you want a modern Christmas here are our tips. The overall focus is on more special and unique statements for holiday decorating. Mixing classic and new is the best formula – crochet motifs and photo prints, modern floral ornaments and glitter glamour, or this year’s hit – artificial snow. You can try a pretty warm, still having some chill combination of plum and ice colors. To create an exotic look that also feels wintry, mix bright purple with spicy coppers and icy gray-blue – copper is also very stylish and an alternative to gold or silver.

Just like last year, there are a number of colors for the Christmas tree – white, silver, blue or pink, besides the classic green. We offer this time classic dark green color but all snow covered tree. Artificial snow could be bio, powder, scatter, crystal or just gently iridescent, decorating Christmas wreaths and trees. Glitter and freezing rain effects are conquering the glass baubles, stars and danglers. Classic elements, such as baubles, stars, angles and nativity figures can give Christmas a traditional character, but if they are in Scandinavian light blue, rich red, pink and yellow they will bring playfulness and some dollhouse romanticism.

The market for LED lighting is continuing to bloom – wax hollow cylinders, for instance, integrated with LED lamps create an authentic candle-flame look while electro-magnetic candles accurately reproduce a natural flame.

As a whole, primary source of inspiration this year is nature. Hand-made decorations and Christmas gifts are very innovative. You can try and make them on your own – you can be creative and original as much as the professional designers. The designs of the seasonal marketplace’s style in 2012 are various, and the best idea is to combine them in order to bring a real personal touch to our home.

  1. I really agree with the artificial snow comment on flocked artificial Christmas trees. I remember them to be very popular back in the 60’s and that waned quite a bit over the years. However, last year I bought a flocked Scotch Pine from Treetime and it was a huge hit at my house. I got several compliments and was initially worried that maybe it was too fake because there is obviously no snow in a house! That wasn’t the case. I barely needed to decorate it – just looks perfect.  For anyone wondering I found it at http://www.treetime.com .
