Carnival Dixieland at Dubai Festival City

Dubai Festival City, a key sponsor of DSS 2008 and a member of Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG), is hosting the ‘Carnival with Dixieland’ show as part of DSS 2008 activities. The international group of 20 performers included musicians, jumpers, stilt walkers, and roller-skaters from Italy and Poland.

The musicians for the carnival play popular Dixieland music – a style of jazz which developed in New Orleans at the start of the 20th century. Dixieland jazz combines brass band marches and instruments such as the trumpet (or cornet), trombone, and clarinet, and these instruments are prominent in the Carnival.

Visitors to Dubai Festival City can see the Carnival on August 8^{th and 9th at 7:15pm.}
