During the art season in Dubai, you can visit various exhibitions across city’s galleries and venues. The Dubai Mall is presenting Kaleidoscope 3D Lab – an interactive installation that creates different visual effects based on the visitor’s proximity. And while you are there, don’t miss the pipe artist and the live street art musical performance, made with only pipes and flip flops! Another visual adventure waits in the Box Park, Jumeirah – Telescope Kaleidoscope, while at The Beach JBR, you can see an installation, mimicking the effects found at large-scale concerts and productions with small-scale technology. Until the end of the month, you can also attend the exhibition of photography that pays tribute to the friendship between the UAE and Poland at Jumeirah’s Street Art Gallery Dubai. Hamdan University hosts a book art installation with sculptures of historical buildings in Dubai are crafted from thousands of used books, while all over Dubai Media City, you will notice many art installations, made with cones.
Until 20th April, visitors at The Courtyard Gallery, Al Quoz 3, can see “The Act of Gordafarid – The Female Warrior”, which is an exhibition of paper and cardboard sculptures by Yasmin Sinai. The beautiful collection follows the story of Gordafarid, the only female warrior in “the Book of Kings” by the popular Persian poet Ferdowsi. With various comedians, live musicians, magicians and street artists DubFest 2015 still runs at Al Ghurair Centre. And the Shangri-La Hotel is presenting “Italian Soul”, a contemporary art exhibition, shows simultaneously with the Latvia Art Month at the hotel.
On Thursday night, Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium is presenting Irish stand-up comedian Tommy Tiernan, while from Wednesday till Saturday, you can see the world-famous South African comedian Trevor Noah and his incredibly popular show “Lost In Translation”.
On Friday, take the whole family and head to Zabeel Park, where you can enjoy a free outdoor concert of various performers from different countries and cultures. “The Peace Concert” is organized by the Salam Aleikum initiative and starts at 6.00 pm. And if you prefer seeing a movie, you can go to the Jumeirah Lake Towers Park, where JLT outdoor Cinema continues this week with screenings of the children’s fun adventure “Gnomes and Trolls” on Friday, and on Saturday, the award-winning “Paris, Je T’aime”, a collection of 18 short films dedicated to Paris.
