Top 10 Print Book Sales of 2012 – Adult Non-Fiction

The 2012 most popular adult non-fiction books showed that the world is still very much interested in the political affair of the U.S., as well as conspiracy theories involving the American country.

In addition, according to Nielsen’s Top 10 Print Book Sales of 2012 list, one of the most successful authors in the adult non-fiction genre was Bill O’Reilly. His name appeared not on only one print book released this year.

 No Easy Day – Mark Owen – This is a memoir of an ex U.S. soldier who participated in the mission which resulted in Osama bin Laden’s death. Initially, the author used the pseudonym Mark Owen, but not long after the book was published, it became clear that his real name is Matt Bissonnette. No Easy Day sold in 1 million print copies only in the first week after its release.

Jesus Calling – Sarah Young – The author of this book Young spent years writing in her prayers diary. Then one day she decided to simply write down things she believed God Himself told her. The result – a best-seller!

Killing Lincoln – Bill O’Reilly – As you can deduce from the title, this work of O’Reilly is dedicated to the famous assassination of the Abraham Lincoln. Despite the fact that some historians claimed that Killing Lincoln is at times inaccurate, the book’s sales will soon hit 1 million.

Killing Kennedy – Bill O’Reilly – Similar to number 3 on our list, this work also described the events from the assassination of a famous U.S. president. This time, however, we are talking about J. F. Kennedy.

Strengths Finder 2.0 – Tom Rath – The first part of this book was published back in 2001 and it triggered a wave of discussions around the world. The sequel of Strengths Finder also tried to help reader to find their hidden talents.

Heaven Is For Real – Todd Burpo – This is a Christian book which tells the story of a character named Calton who had a near death experience. Heaven is for Real was published in 2010 and by 2012 it had already sold in more than 1 million copies.

Unbroken – Laura Hillenbrand – The author of this non-fiction work is known for her book Seabiscuit: An American Legend. In Unbroken Hillenbrand tells the biographical story of Louis Zamperini who was an Olympic star and later a WWII hero.

American Sniper – Chris Kyle – Kyle’s nicknames in “the most lethal sniper in the U.S.” Why? Well, because he has killed more than 160 people with a sniper gun. He was also part of the U.S. army and he took part in the Iraq War. That is pretty much what this book is about.

Bossypants – Tina Fey – You may know Tina Fey from TV shows like 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live. In 2012, she released her autobiography Bossypants which sold in mover than 1 million copies in a flash.

 Steve Jobs – Walter Isaacson – This is the official and authorized autobiography of Apple’s father Steve Jobs. The book hit the stores right after Job’s death in 2011 and it instantly became a hit. It is also very much recommended as an inspirational reading to students and entrepreneurs.
