MoF Employees Introduce e-Dirham to ‘Watani’ Summer Camp Children

The Revenue Development Department at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) recently organized a visit at its headquarters in Dubai for children participating in the ‘Watani’ summer camp. Watani kids realize future dreams at Kidzania

As part of the Watani children’s spring camp, a group of children spent an entire day at the unique Kidzania attraction in Dubai Mall, an amazing environment of mini cities with jobs, role play and a fun sense of responsibility in the community.
The trip was one of the dozens of educational and entertaining activities of the Watani programme during Dubai Shopping Festival, specifically designed to help develop the children’s practical skills.
Kidzania was the perfect example of the goals Watani is hoping to achieve, linking the traditional values of independency, leadership, and decision making with the practical skills of a modern world to make a brighter future.

Watani distributes harees in Abu Dhabi

Zayed Residence beneficiaries and volunteers participate in the distribution
Building on the successful Haress distribution initiative undertaken by Watani across the UAE to uphold the old national tradition, more than 20 Watani volunteers accompanied by 80 beneficiaries of Zayed Residence, distributed Harees plates before Iftar to the residents of Al Shahama, Al Rahba, Al Bahia in Abu Dhabi.
The distribution was followed by an Iftar ceremony at the Officers Club of Abu Dhabi Police attended by representatives from the Red Crescent and mothers of some of the beneficiaries of Zayed Residence. The initiative aims at enhancing the spirit of social convergence between all members of the society and to bring happiness and joy to their hearts. This is also aimed at integrating the beneficiaries of Zayed Residence with the larger society by encouraging their participation in social activities in addition to strengthening their commitment to the national heritage. Watani re-energizes Harees distribution tradition in Al Dhaid
Further energising the tradition of Harees distribution in Al Dhaid, Watani volunteers accompanied by Khalifa Bin Hwaiden, Member of the Federal National Council; Saeed Al Kaabi from the Al Dhaid Club and a number of Sharjah scouts distributed Harees plates before Iftar to the residents of Bin Tunaij and Bin Ketb communities.
Khalifa Bin Hwaiden said the distribution of Harees highlights the UAE heritage and traditions of caring for the community during the Holy Month of Ramadan. “I thank Watani for its relentless efforts in preserving our heritage and culture amongst the community members, particularly youth.”
He added: “The responsibility of reinforcing our national identity is upon all UAE nationals. This move is a first in the region and is aimed re-energizing our traditions and local customs. The visit today reminded me of my childhood when we used to distribute Harees to neighbors and friends. We hope to conserve our rich heritage to serve as a strong link between our families and communities.” Read more
