Do you remember Darth Vader and the excitement the Star Wars Saga
brought into your life at some point of the time? It seems many of us are still quite fond of the saga, because the Blu-Ray version of it briefly topped product charts recently.

9 films make to the final selection for the festival’s prestigious competition
The final short-list of nine feature films and documentaries vying for the Official Gulf Feature competition at the fifth Gulf Film Festival has three world premieres that include the story of three artists exploring the artistic identity of Dubai; an evocative tale on Saeid Jaf, a mercenary commander of the Iraqi Baath Party; and a scary thriller about a road journey that goes awry when the motorists encounter a group of zombies. The Dubai International Film Festival, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, is partnering with the American Mission to the UAE to present eight powerful documentaries from the American Documentary Showcase to audiences across the emirates. All screenings are free of charge and open to the public.

Empire to distribute Imagenation Abu Dhabi’s local films across MENA region

Imagenation Abu Dhabi has signed an exclusive agreement with Empire International, to distribute Imagenation Abu Dhabi’s locally produced slate to theatres and on DVD throughout the MENA region.
The agreement will begin with the distribution of Imagenation Abu Dhabi’s first two local film productions, the coming-of-age story, Sea Shadow, directed by acclaimed Emirati film director Nawaf Al-Janahi (The Circle), and the Arabian horror thriller, Djinn, directed by horror genre master Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Poltergeist).
