Ramzi launching new album in Dubai

Two years since the launch of his top selling album “Chapter One”, Ramzi is back with his stunning new album entitled “Touch the Sky” which will be available from 16th May 2011. Fun Sculptures by Amanda Ovington

Latest in the series of eclectic art exhibitions at Corp Executive Apartments – Al Barsha is a display of the work of Amanda Ovington, an Australian-born sculptress and painter whose figurative work features wry observations of the human condition in an appealing and often comedic manner.

Taking place between May 18 and June 1 at the hotel, Fun Sculptures by Amanda Ovington will feature nearly 30 unique pieces including four major new sculptures plus a variety of paintings and charcoal drawings.

Describing her work as ‘fun’, ‘energetic’ and ‘modern’, the artist credits a move to Dubai for inspiring her again after a break of several years: “The multi-cultural world that is Dubai, plus the mentoring of Katerina Smolderyana with her sculpture group at the Dubai International Art Centre motivated me in so many ways,” she said. First official Apple Store to open in Mall of the Emirates

Virgin Megastore will be opening the region’s first official Apple Store on March 16th .

The store, in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates, will be 100 per cent Apple, complete with Apple staff and know-it-all Geniuses.

It’s a real boon for Apple-lovers in the UAE, who in the past have had to deal with extra-long waits for Cupertino’s latest toys or suffer the hugely-inflated prices on the grey market. Read more

Mall of the Emirates makes wishes come true

Mall of the Emirates helped put a smile on the faces of many children recently, when it donated over AED 24,000 to improve the lives of many children through Make A Wish Foundation.

The donation for this noble cause was raised through a silent auction held at the grand launch of Mall of the Emirates’ newly opened Fashion Dome on October 3rd. During the exclusive opening event, which was attended by over 500 guests, ten luxury items sponsored by Diane Von Furstenberg, Galliano, Missoni, Mulberry, See by Chloé, Versace, Sephora, Tribes, P.F. Chang’s and More Café were auctioned, with the proceeds of AED 24, 145 given to the popular charity.

The donation was handed over by Fuad Sharaf, Vice President, Mall of the Emirates to Mr. Hani Al Zubaidi, from the Board of Directors at the Make A Wish Foundation. The Make A Wish Foundation, which is also based in the UAE, is a global organisation that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope, strength & joy.
