Aspiring innovators, entrepreneurs and trailblazers will have the opportunity to implement their ideas on a global scale with the launch today of the Innovation Tournament 2021.
The Tournament will be hosted by Arabic Knowledge@Wharton, the MENA edition of the online research and business analysis journal published by the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) which is the largest higher education institution in the United Arab Emirates. twofour54 lab for the Higher Colleges of Technology

The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) has joined forces with Abu Dhabi media conglomerate twofour54 to provide HCT students with opportunities to develop skills and careers in the local media industry, with the recent signing of an Agreement.
The agreement was signed by Dr Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology and Mr Tony Orsten, CEO of twofour54. As part of the parties’ commitment to developing the media skills of HCT students they will establish a dedicated twofour54 lab at the HCT Abu Dhabi Men’s College campus. Read more
HCT Women’s campuses & Pink Polo launch Breast Cancer Awareness tour

The Higher Colleges of Technology partnered today with Pink Polo to launch a Breast Cancer Awareness UAE tour which will visit four women’s HCT campuses in the lead up to a Pink Polo family fun day on Saturday, October 29.
The HCT’s Abu Dhabi Women’s College was the setting for the inaugural campus tour visit, which proved a huge hit with the students, especially given the opportunity to be photographed with a pink Fiat 500.
Pink Polo has teamed up with the Abu Dhabi Women’s College for the second consecutive year to promote Breast Cancer Awareness in a non-invasive and interactive medium. This year’s launch was highlighted by the announcement of a student-oriented art competition entitled “Pink Polo: Paint Pink.” Female university students from across the UAE are invited to enter pieces painted with the theme of breast cancer awareness and polo, with winning artworks to receive prizes and to be displayed at the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club at the Pink Polo family day on October 29. Bob Geldof receives Al Saqar Award from UAE Minister of Higher Education

Sir Bob Geldof, who has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize on seven occasions, was today awarded the Al Saqar Trophy in Abu Dhabi by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, U.A.E. Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor Higher Colleges of Technology. Read more
First Gulf Bank partners with Tawteen to empower Emirati Youth

First Gulf Bank (FGB) launched a new project for Emirati Youth in collaboration with Tawteen, the major strategic initiative of the Emirates Foundation, at the Employment Expo which was held recently at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Abu Dhabi.
This project, which is the first of its kind in the UAE aims to offer young Emirati youth opportunities to develop new marketing skills in the banking sector through different training programs. It will also educate them on how products are delivered to the market and offers them an opportunity for them to earn an extra income which will in turn support the development of the UAE economy. HCT and du celebrate 150 graduates in new training programs

The Higher Colleges of Technology’s (HCT) Dubai Men’s College was the venue for the recent graduation ceremony of 150 male and female du employees who successfully completed a six-month corporate training course, operated by HCT, in the areas of English language, soft skills and technical skills.
The trainees were selected from several departments within du, throughout the United Arab Emirates, and undertook the training at courses at the HCT’s Dubai Men’s College, Fujairah Women’s College, Ras Al Khaimah Men’s College, Al Ain Men’s College and Sharjah Men’s College. Read more
Community Development Authority discusses cooperation with higher education institutions in the UAE

The Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai organized a meeting to strengthen communication and co-operation with the institutions of higher education and scientific research in the United Arab Emirates, and explore opportunities for long-term partnerships with them.
The meeting, the first of a series to be held throughout the year, highlights CDA’s commitment to strengthen overall social development in line with the goals outlined in the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015. Read more

The Ministry’s IT Department tours Higher Colleges of Technology in Al Ain Briefs students on job vacancies
His Excellency Tariq Lootah, Director General of the Ministry of State for the Federal National Council Affairs, said the Ministry is keen to attract best national talent and high academic achievers to join its workforce. In a bid to achieve this, the Ministry organised visits to UAE universities. Most recently, the ministry’s IT department toured the Higher Colleges of Technology in Al Ain.
Mr Lootah reiterated that the MSFNCA keeps it doors open to all qualified UAE nationals as it strongly believes in exploring talent and potential amongst the local community. This can be accomplished through visits to the colleges and communicating with the students directly as it breaks the ice and establishes good relations by adopting innovative and efficient ways of recruitment.
