Etihad Airways partners with Air France, KLM

Rapidly expanding Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways
has agreed to jointly market some of its flights with Air France-KLM. The new venture could become the beginning of a larger strategic alliance, according to the airline’s announcement.
The new deal covers at present codesharing on flights between Etihad’s hub in the United Arab Emirates’ capital Abu Dhabi and Amsterdam and Paris, as well as some connecting flights to European, Asian and Australian destinations. Read more
Etihad Airways suspends flights to Damascus

Etihad Airways has suspended flights between Abu Dhabi and Damascus with immediate effect and until further notice.
The decision, while not taken lightly, has been made due to the deteriorating security position in Syria, said a statement from Etihad Airways.
The safety of passengers and crew is paramount to the airline. Etihad Airways will notify affected passengers and offer a full refund for unused tickets, added the statement.
Abu Dhabi aviation policy expands into global markets

The UAE’s national airline, Etihad Airways, is planning an expansion policy aiming to prepare it to compete in the increasingly chalenging regional aviation environment.
Etihad – which is backed by one of Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth funds – was founded in 2003. It has amassed a fleet of more than 65 aircraft, with 100 more on order, including many wide-body, long-haul planes. Etihad has recently become the owner of strategic holdings in other regional and global carriers to boost passenger growth figures via code sharing, while trying to expand its own operations. Complimentary 96-hour UAE visas with Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways is offering complimentary 96-hour tourist visas to guests on transit flights to Dubai and through the UAE, effective immediately. The visas, ideal for travellers making stopover visits en route to their final destination, are being offered in cooperation with Radisson Blu hotel on Yas Island.
The offer is valid for travellers previously eligible for Etihad Airways’ paid-for visas service (available at a cost of AED 300), including passport holders from Bangladesh, Belarus, Canada, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Morocco, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam. Pink Polo, the UAE’s ground-breaking Breast cancer awareness initiative, will return for it’s second renewal on Saturday 29th October at the UAE’s Royal Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UAE and is the second-biggest killer of women in the country. If the disease is discovered and treated at an early stage, 98 per cent of sufferers will survive, yet only 30 per cent of breast cancer cases in the Emirates are diagnosed early. Read more
Efforts continue to give safe passage for Emirati citizens from Egypt

Etihad Airways continues to operate scheduled services to Cairo and Alexandria and is working closely with the UAE authorities to upgrade services where necessary, as a result of the ongoing political unrest in Egypt.
Since January 29, Etihad has operated three supplementary flights from Cairo and upgraded five aircraft, allowing the airline to accommodate an additional 1,020 passengers wanting to leave Egypt. Etihad has transported more than 700 UAE Nationals to Abu Dhabi during this period. Read more

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has launched a series of ‘Breaking Deals’ to some of the airline’s top destinations in Europe, the Far East and the Middle East, offering up to 40% discount on some fares.
