UAE astronomer forecasts Muslim’s fasting month of Ramadan timing
A UAE astronomer has forecast the Muslim’s fasting month of Ramadan might start on Saturday, July 21, and the Eid Al Fitr would be on August 19.
Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Astronomy Researcher and Supervisor of Sharjah Planetarium, said that the birth of the crescent moon that marks the beginning of Ramadan will be on Thursday, 19th July 2012, at 8:24 am (UAE time). The sunset will be at 5:09 pm, while the moon will set two minutes after sunset, according to the official news agency WAM. Read more

In 2011, Eid Al Fitr begins on Tuesday for millions of Muslims across the globe. People are celebrating after a month-long day time fasting during Ramadan. Eid Al Fitr on Tuesday, First Day of Shawwal

Eid Al Fitr will be on Tuesday, the First day of Shawwal month, Aug. 30, according to the statement issued by the Moon Sighting Committee today, announced the official news agency WAM.
The committee, which met yesterday evening under chairmanship of Dr Hadef Joan Al Dhahiri, Minister of Justice, said upon verification and sighting of crescent in coordination with the neighbouring sisterly countries, it has been decided that Monday is the last Ramadan month day, and Tuesday will be the first Eid day.
