The Dubai Airshow closed its doors today on a successful week which saw US$63.3 billion worth of orders for aircraft, maintenance services and flight training programmes.

Visitor numbers broke the Dubai Airshow record with 56,548 people attending, making the 12th edition of the Dubai Airshow the biggest as well as the most colourful yet, as the halls, pavilions and chalets displayed the colours of the UAE national flag in celebration of the nation’s 40th anniversary in two weeks’ time on 2 December. Africa 4 Emirates Airlines has selected a comprehensive package of Rockwell Collins avionics for 32 new Airbus A380 and 30 new Boeing 777 aircraft. Aircraft deliveries are in progress and will continue through 2015.

The agreement was commemorated today at a signing ceremony at the Dubai Airshow.

The deal includes Rockwell Collins’ award winning MultiScan™ Threat Detection System and the GLU-925 Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR), the industry’s first MMR certified for precision landing using either Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) or Instrument Landing Systems (ILS). Read more
