While obtaining an exclusive interview with Sylvia, the young entrepreneur who recently started her business in Dubai Media City, we noticed that she also possesses exquisite style and an aesthetic vision, that could be inspirational to many of DubaiChornicle.com readers. Q.: Artistic and creative people are usually aesthetes, and many possess a great taste. Do you consider yourself an Aesthete?
A.: Over the years, I have further developed my artistic skills starting from painting, design, and photography. Even, I enrolled into fashion design course 10 years ago. I cherish all fine things in life, being a striking piece of furniture, unique piece of art, enjoying a delicious meal in an exclusive restaurant, or traveling to an exotic destination.
Q.: Who inspires your personal style?
A.: Audrey Hepburn, with her style, grace and beauty. I have pictures of her in my studio too. Read more

Dimo Valev works as Marketing Manager at Media Cast in Dubai Media City. He is born in Bulgaria, in the early seventies, where he has completed the Academy of Art in Sofia. Hailed as the first Emirati digital artist, Sumayyah Al Suwaidi started her artistic journey back in 2001 with a series of digital paintings inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan.
In 2007, she established career for herself as an art curator and since then went on to curate many shows as the annual artistic event “Ramadan Art Bazaar”.
Sumayyah Al Suwaidi is also a successful business woman, as she owns the very famous multi-brand fashion stores in Abu Dhabi “Grafika”. She supports established and emerging fashion designers by providing them space to showcase and sell their creations.
Gergana Mineva of Dubai Chronicle had the opportunity to interview the artistic entrepreneur ahead of the 2011 Arab Woman of the Year Award that will be held in Abu Dhabi.

Q. What is your personal style signifier?
We live in an extremely dynamic world where everything changes day by day. In this environment it is not easy and not right to be bound to only one style or philosophy, or form, or even culture! We have to be flexible, evolve, and always look for more so this is what I am. I will try all techniques in painting, all styles in poetry, all practises in cuisine, same is valid for my music preferences – completely cosmopolitan. I am a real citizen of Dubai, am I not?
