Etisalat hosts a new football-freestyle world record in the making “Eid in Dubai”

Football freestyler and Etisalat’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup ambassador, Dan Magness, to set a new record in Dubai

As the National Supporter of the FIFA Club World Cup, Etisalat announced its sponsorship activation for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup being held at Jumeirah Beach, Umm Sequim, till 22 November. Adding to the football fervour and fest, Etisalat is hosting football freestyler Dan Magness, who will attempt to break one of his world records during the tournament.

On Saturday, just before the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup semi-final begins, Magness, the Etisalat Ambassador for the tournament, will attempt to break his record for the most number of consecutive football touches using only his shoulders. His current record is 251 and Magness is aiming for 300 which is a record he set last year. He will do this at the Etisalat stand located in the Fan Zone Area between the main stadium and pitch two.

Magness currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest time controlling a football – 24 hours – which he set back in May of this year.

Pledging its ongoing support in promoting football across the country, Etisalat also organized school trips in Dubai during which Magness met with students and encouraged them to participate in sports more fervently. He interacted with the students to teach them free-styling tricks and further challenging them to aim for higher sports targets.

Magness has built a reputation around the world as one of the best football freestylers. He has taught his tricks to Arjen Robben, Robbie Keane, Francesco Totti, Roberto Carlos, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, Djibril Cisse, and Freddie Ljungberg, to name a few.
