Ride ala Gondola Style in Global Village
Visitors know for a fact that shopping around Global Village, a member of Tatweer Dubai and the much celebrated tourism destination in Dubailand, entails a lot of walking. The area is so vast that people need to visit at least three times to complete the sightseeing of all the pavilions.
But, there is a new sensation that is happening in this season of Global Village that does not need walking. The eye-catching built-in canal is now filled with Pharaoh-clothed sailors and custom-made boats. This season, guests can tour the Global Village with a scenic boat ride ala gondola style.
The ten-minute journey, back and forth, along the canal’s coast in front of Egypt Pavilion up to the Thailand Pavilion is a must-try for the park visitors.
The trip of approximately 500 meters offers a refreshing perspective of Global Village – a totally relaxing ride while feeling the winter breeze, and looking through the busy crowd and beautiful facades of the pavilions around.
Real life sailors from Egypt assist the guests with much ardor and keep them calm in times of momentary nudges. They surely attract the visitors’ attention with their striking attires ranging from Pharaoh-like to Sailor, and even Italian costume.
There were ten boats, designed and fabricated in Italy, which came to Global Village and started operating last 27 November 2008. This entertaining venue will be offered in the park until 21 February 2009.
With this offering of boat rides, Global Village gives its guests a one-stop entertainment value. The visitors can shop and walk around, or simply rest and enjoy a scenic tour. Indeed, an added value for every one wanting to spend good times. Boat ride costs AED 10 per person. The ride is operating throughout the Global Village operating hours.
