Emirates Securities Market Report for the Trading Session of Thursday 29 July 2010
The Emirates Securities Market Index has decreased by 0.04% to close at 2,477.48 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has lost 0.15 Billion AED attaining 365.29 Billion AED. A total of 61.77 Million shares were traded with a total value of 93.01 Million AED during the trading session of Thursday 29 July 2010 through 1,697 transactions. The Banks sector has increased by 0.28% , followed by the Insurance sector that increased by 0.05% , followed by the Services sector that decreased by 0.27% , followed by the Industry sector that decreased by 0.29%.
The number of companies which has been traded is 49 out of 132 companies listed in the market. Shares for 14 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 19 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
«AL Dar Properties» came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of 22.43 Million AED distributed over 9.13 Million shares through 254 transactions.«Emaar Properties» shares followed by 16.90 Million AED distributed over 5.18 Million shares through 165 transactions.
«Oman & Emirates Investment Holding» shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at 0.66 AED with 10.00% increase during 2,109 shares traded with a trade value of 1,392 AED. Whereas «Gulf LiveStock» shares Increased by 9.87% to close at 6.01 AED during the trading of 200 shares traded value of 1,202 AED.
«Global Investment» has achieved the lowest decline by 9.92% to close at 1.18 AED during 6,485 shares traded with a trade value of 7,652 AED. Followed by «Gulf General Investment Co.» which dropped by 4.99% to close at 0.476 AED during the trading of 40,000 shares traded value of 19,040 AED.
Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has declined by -10.61%, with a total accumulation trade value of 70.03 Billion AED. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 23 out of the 132 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 74 companies.
The Banks sector index has the lead over the other indices, with a declination of -6.38% since the end of last year to settle at 2,750 points.Whereas, the Industry sector index has declined by -9.17% to close at 310 points.Followed by the Services sector index with percentage of -13.71% to settle at 2,199 points.Followed by the Insurance sector index with percentage of -14.85% to settle at 2,819 points.
