Daily trading up 130% since 2008 with new contracts planned for 2010
The Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME) marked its third anniversary today with the announcement that average daily trading of its flagship DME Oman Crude Oil Futures Contract (DME Oman) has increased by 130% since 2008, averaging 2,955 lots since the start of 2010, equivalent to around 3 million barrels of oil traded daily. Apple today announced that iPad ⢠sales have topped two million in less than 60 days since its launch on April 3. Apple began shipping iPad

The new extension to the Mall of the EmiratesĀ will open on September 1. The new extension will feature more than 40 new luxury stores including seven new restaurants.
Mall of the Emirates’ 7,000-space parking redevelopment is now complete, according the Arabian Business.
A new taxi drop off and pick up point, near the Pullman Hotel entrance at the north east corner of the mall, will be also opening soon. It will double the existing capacity for taxiās aiding entrance and exit from the mall for its valued visitors.

US crude oil futures fell last Friday, ending May with the worst monthly decline since December 2008, at the height of the financial crisis, as a downgrade of Spain’s credit rating sparked further Euro zone worries and prompted oil traders to seek less risky assets. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, July crude settled down 58 cents, or 0.78 percent, at US$73.97 a barrel, after trading from US$73.13 to US$75.72. Front-month crude futures fell US$12.18, or 14.1 percent, from April, their biggest monthly percentage loss since December 2008, when prices fell 18.1 percent from the previous month. Ā Read more

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Rulerās Representative in the Western Region and the President of Abu Dhabi Universityās Board of Trustees, Abu Dhabi University celebrates its fourth graduation for both undergraduate and postgraduate students on the 14th of June 2010 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Center. The fourth graduate class consists out of 346 students – 142 male students (57 undergraduate and 85 postgraduate) and 204 female students (113 undergraduate and 91 postgraduate); 253 of which are from the Abu Dhabi Campus, and 93 students that hail from the Al Ain Campus. 187 (64%) of the total number of graduates are local students. The graduation ceremony will be attended by a number of Sheikhs, ministers, high-ranking officials, diplomats, and the parents of graduates. Read more
