Group honoured Superbrands status in recognition of excellence in products and services
Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has been named a Superbrand by the Superbrands Council, the independent authority that honours branding excellence and achievements in various sectors across the world. The group was awarded the status for the 4th consecutive year in recognition of its outstanding record for products and customer service in line with international standards.
The local Superbrands Council, which comprises some of the most prominent names in the UAE business sector, selected ENOC, along with other 63 leading UAE brands – all of which met the stringent selection criteria set by the Council. Read more

The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) and Deutsche Post DHL today announced significant progress on the joint research initiative to elevate the emirate’s logistics capacity, transforming the speed of doing business in the city and enhancing its economic competitiveness.
The DED-DHL research partnership, announced in January 2009 and on course for implementation in 2010, addresses three areas critical to Dubai’s growth: reducing congestion, improving convenience, and minimizing carbon. The commercially viable and pro-growth solutions identified for implementation include first and final-mile delivery for Dubai residents, reduced-carbon warehouses, and smarter and more widespread distribution models leading to reduced operations costs. Etisalat offers Wasel subscribers 100% money back on New Connections, Renewals and Reactivations

Etisalat today unveiled a special summer promotion in which new and existing pre-paid ‘Wasel’ subscribers get 100 per cent money back on new Wasel connections, Wasel renewals and reactivations to be used on international calls. The AED165 credit for new subscribers and AED100 credit for renewals and reactivations will be granted over a three-month period and are valid for 30 days each. The offer starts tomorrow July 1, 2009 and is valid till September 30, 2009.
For new Wasel customers, Etisalat will return the AED 165 connection fee with AED 165 worth of international calls and an additional AED 10 usable for any call or message service. Subscribers will receive AED 60 of the credit at activation (50+10), and AED 50 and AED 65 respectively at the beginning of the second and third months. Foreign investors net DFM buyers by AED 79.80 mln
Dubai Financial Market General Index (DFMGI) ended today in the red, snapping its 2-day winning streak after edging down 0.60%, to stabilize below the 1800 barrier at 1784.45 pts, according Mubasher data.
Trading volume climbed over 21% to about 687 million shares, compared to 566.67 million shares yesterday. Similarly, traded value jumped above 29% from AED 802.88 million to nearly AED 1.04 billion, with 11783 transactions. Read more

ADNOC cuts oil supplies

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on Monday told customers it will cut their allocations by 19% for August 2009 shipments from its four wells: Murban, Upper Zakum, Lower Zakum and Umm Sheif by 19%.
The move aims at complying with the UAE’s production quota set by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), reported the official news agency WAM. Read more
