Silver Cup 2012 will continue on Thursday with two attractive matches

Zedan Polo and Bin Drai won their respective games in a double match day for the Silver Cup 2012

Zedan Polo beat Ghantoot by 6-5 and Bin Drai, with the same score, won his match against Rhinos in Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.

In the first polo match of the day, Amr Zedan´s team, with another great game of Nachi Heguy, added his second victory in the tournament.

Zedan Polo had to work hard to beat Ghantoot Polo and it was in the last chukker when they finally broke free.

Spectators at the 2012 Dubai World Cup meeting at Meydan Racecourse on March 31st will be able to employ skill or luck to pick winners and earn rewards from an AED 200,000 (US$54,794) Pick Seven prize pool.

The Dubai Racing Club (DRC) has boosted the Pick Seven cash prizes for the popular free-to-enter competition by 100 percent. The Pick Seven competition will operate on the final seven events of the nine race card scheduled for the 17th renewal of the world’s richest race meeting, the Dubai World Cup. The increased Pick Seven pool compliments the record prizemoney on offer for the racing, which with the addition of the ninth race this year, the Dubai Gold Cup, has now reached a record level of US$27.25 million. 17th UAE Terry Fox Run to fund 7 cancer research projects

The Terry Fox Run Abu Dhabi will collaborate with its Al Ain, Dubai and The Northern Emirates counterparts in funding seven cancer research projects with a total of over AED2.3 million in funds. The money, which was raised at the annual Runs, through donations and t-shirt sales, will go to fund researchers at the UAE University (UAEU) over the next three years. The locally-funded and world-class cancer research projects will then be evaluated in Switzerland and Canada by a team of international oncology researchers. Read more

Tour De Al Gharbia Cycle Race

Madinat Zayed and Ruwais Higher Colleges of Technology are pleased to announce the date of the third WRDC Tour De Al Gharbia Cycle Race to take place on 16th February 2012. This year it is planned for the race to run inland, on the quiet road that leaves the shimmering coastal salt flats of Tarif and travels across gentle white sand dunes as they blend into the beautiful orange desert scenery that surrounds Madinat Zayed City, where after around 50 Km, the race will end. The race is sponsored by the Western Region Development Council and other partners include Mirfa Hotel and Abu Dhabi Police, along with support from Arab Cyclist, the Western Region Municipality and the Tilal Liwa Hotel. Sky Dive Dubai & Dubai Duty Free Class 1 GP

Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) will welcome the Class 1 Powerboat drivers back to town this weekend for the Sky Dive Dubai & Dubai Duty Free Dubai Grand Prix in the final round in the UIM Class 1 World Championship.

Starting on Thursday 8th December at 2pm with the official practice where the drivers will get the feel of the racecourse and make final checks on their boats followed by the drivers briefing in the evening.
